It is one of the approximately 593 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in India, located in Malhar Village, near Masturi, Bilaspur District of Chhattisgarh. It is about 32 kilometers from the Bilaspur city. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are Indian schools for talented children. They form a part of the system of gifted education. It comes under the Bhopal region of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. J.N.V. Malhar is residential & co-educational school affiliated to CBSE and has classes from VI to XII standard. This Vidyalaya is run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, New Delhi, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education and Government of India. == History == Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Malhar was established in year 1987. It was started in the building of Primary School Malhar, the temporary site. It was shifted to the new building at permanent site in 1990. First Principal was Mr. O. P.
